Enjoy the timeless classic solitaire card game! Organize cards into foundation piles using strategy and skill. Move cards in alternating colors and descending order to win this relaxing yet challenging card game.
Solitaire Klondike is the classic card game that has captivated players for generations. Originally popularized on computers, this timeless solitaire variant brings the perfect blend of strategy, skill, and relaxation to your fingertips.
The goal is simple yet challenging: organize a standard 52-card deck into four foundation piles, one for each suit, arranged in ascending order from Ace to King. But getting there requires careful planning, strategic thinking, and a bit of luck.
Whether you're a seasoned solitaire player or new to the game, Solitaire Klondike offers an engaging experience that's perfect for quick breaks or extended sessions. It's the ultimate time killer that keeps your brain sharp while providing a relaxing escape from daily stress.
Start with a tableau of seven columns. The first column has one card face up, the second has two cards (one face up), and so on, with the last column having seven cards. The remaining cards form the stock pile, which you can draw from throughout the game.
Your objective is to build four foundation piles, one for each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades), starting with the Ace and building up to the King. On the tableau, you can build sequences in descending order with alternating colors - for example, place a black spade 8 under a red heart 9.
Empty tableau spaces are valuable! Only a King or a sequence led by a King can occupy an empty column. This rule is crucial for strategic moves - freeing up a column can be the key to accessing hidden cards or rearranging your layout.
Use the stock pile to draw cards (typically in draw 1 or draw 3 mode). Drawn cards can be placed directly on foundation piles if they're the right suit and value, or moved to the tableau if they fit the descending, alternating color pattern. Plan your moves wisely - every decision matters!
Use your mouse to click and drag cards to move them. Click on the stock pile to draw new cards. Double-click cards to automatically move them to foundation piles when possible. Right-click or use keyboard shortcuts for undo and hint features.
Touch and drag cards to move them around the tableau. Tap the stock pile to draw cards. Tap and hold cards for options, and double-tap to auto-move cards to foundations when valid. Swipe gestures for undo and other quick actions.
Always prioritize revealing hidden cards - exposing face-down cards gives you more options and flexibility in your moves.
Plan several moves ahead. Before moving a card, consider what cards it might be blocking and how you can access them.
Don't automatically place cards on foundation piles just because you can. Sometimes it's better to keep them in the tableau if they're helping build a sequence.
Solitaire Klondike offers endless gameplay with randomly dealt hands. Each game presents unique challenges and opportunities. Track your wins, improve your strategy, and see how quickly you can complete each game. With countless possible card arrangements, every session feels fresh and engaging.
